Who can open a Myntkaup account?

To sign up you need an Icelandic kennitala (national ID number) and either Icelandic electronic ID (rafræn skilríki) or the Auðkenni app. Anyone with a kennitala can get electronic ID.

You can sign up in the Myntkaup app, available on the App Store and Google Play, or on myntkaup.is. Most customers sign up and trade in the app.

Companies can also open an account: email myntkaup@myntkaup.is to start. We identify the beneficial owners and carry out due diligence before the account is opened.
